Tutankhamun revealed

by Eric Smith Online Professional

The ancient face of one of Egypt's most famous kings has gone on public display for the first time. Tutankhamun was the boy king who lived 3,300 years ago.

The Mummy has been placed in a climate-controlled glass case, with the body covered by a linen cloth. The pharaoh's tomb and mummy were discovered by British archaeologist Howard Carter in 1922. Scientists restored the badly damaged mummified body more than two years ago but much of the body is broken into 18 pieces.

As a passionate collector of all things Ancient Egypt, i was excited to see these images on the News.

I love they history of Ancient Egypt too but I'm hoping that we aren't going to see more decay of the mummy. It's also a bit disturbing to me that a king is put on display as an object of curiosity in many cases. There should be some reverence here for the dead.
