Too Many Opportunities, Not enough Income

by Jean DAndrea Retired
This morning as usual, I was going through my emails.     Business opportunities aplenty!
Where do all these people collect my email address from?   I don't give it out.

Many of these alleged opportunities are nothing but list builders.   To find out about the business, one must supply a name and an email address.     I rarely do this, as if something looks interesting enough, then I'll contact them.     Once they have your email, you will be subjected to ongoing solicitations until you unsubscribe.    Sometimes there is no unsubscribe link in these messages, so you have to email the owner, and hope they will delete you from their list.

Other emails offer the chance to join them for only $XX - well, I have news for them - I'm not sending my hard earned cash for the small amount of information they are giving out.

Earlier in my online career, I had my fingers burned by joining some of these businesses.   Once you are in, they want more cash, then next month, even more....... you know how it goes.    Never got a cent out of them either.

As a member of a few safelists, I get a lot of emails already, without receiving scores of unsolicited ones, many of which want me to purchase pills to enlarge parts I don't have!     There doesn't seem to be a way to stop this, so I guess it's a case of keep hitting the delete key - the poor thing will wear out soon.

Now if only they'd pay me for reading all this spam............  but then, it wouldn't be spam, would it?

Today heaps more opportunities appeared in my poor overworked mailbox. After a brief glance, I've deleted them all, as nothing really appealed to me.

Many of the ads seem to be nothing but hype, and the rest were totally unbelievable. I don't think I'm going to get $20,000 in 20 days, or some such promise, do you?

I've left an online business in the past because they gave me an email ad to send out, which was blatant lies. If I can't succeed online with honesty, then I'm not going to do it. The one business I currently promote definitely has integrity - the CEO/Admin is one of the most straightforward online marketers I've come across, and he's always available to help you. That's the kind of business I want to stay in.........

You can always tell the new opportunities online - they are those that appear most often in your email every day.

Once a program has been around for a while, then you will notice the frequency of its appearance in your mailbox will drop, as will the number of splash pages, etc., in the TE's and ads in Safelists.

The best programs to join are those which have been around for a long time. They aren't necessarily the programs which appear most often, but you'll see them around in many places.

Of course, this doesn't apply to all programs, there are plenty around which have been oversold, and with which it is very difficult to make a sale.

Before you decide which opportunity to join, please, please, do your due diligence. For instance, you may use WHOIS to find out about the owners of a program, and discover that they have previously been involved in a scam. Or you may discover that they are currently working with a very successful venture.

There are plenty of ways to find out about any opportunity out there - don't get your fingers burnt unneccessarily. Remember, research is good - it could save you wasting your hard earned money.
