There are a lot "get rich quick" and "make a fortune off $20"
affiliate marketing programs out there, which may or may not be
telling the truth. Many people of all skill levels fall for
these scams. It really is a case of trail and error and
eventually you will get to know what affiliate marketing scams
looks like.
Programs that offer you good commission, say around 50% mark,
are generally worth a more detailed look. Use the best research
tool you have, the internet, to find out more about an affiliate
marketing program. Google is your friend and will often return
some interesting results. One method I find useful with Google
is selecting to search groups as well as the web. Groups will
return individual peoples opinions and responses which can be
invaluable.
Another important factor when reviewing an affiliate marketing
program is to see what advertising content they offer. Quite
often an affiliate program will give good commission but they
only offer banners and text style adds. This is fine if you have
a site that is generating good traffic and already selling other
products. However if your looking to promote individual
products, you really need to find a program that provides you
with the option to display these products on your page.
A good example is http://www.ghchealth.com. Global
Healing Center. This affiliate program allow you promote
individual products on your site as if they were your own. This
can be especially useful when your targeting a particular niche
such as "organic supplements" and you want to display these type
of products on your affiliate marketing website.
Overall it is really worth spending the time and researching.
Once you have found a good niche to market, and some affiliate
products to go with it, then your ready to start advertising. I
have really only covered a few issues on this topic, that I hope
will assist you in making the right decisions. I will cover
niche marketing and the many ways to market your affiliate
website in the weeks to come.
