Free-For-All Sites and Email Spam

Free-For-All Idea, Good or Bad?
By: Teodor M Muntean

Have you ever tried to submit your web site to free-for-all sites? Almost anyone who has tried submitting to FFA traffic-generating sites will say that they are no longer worth the effort.

Most of Automated FFA submission sites are only "visited" by automated submission scripts and not by human eyes. So, the only thing these auto submission tools achieve is to get your mail address bombarded with "confirmation" emails from the FFA page holders.

Many credulous users who submitted their personal email address to FFA have suffered incredible frustrations because of the big amount of spam they receive.

However, I’m one of this "victims" of the confirmation spam and, as Karen Weir suggested, I’ve managed to turn the tables around with a very ingenious twist to the process.

I basically submitted my web site using the FFA auto submission tool and agreed to get the "thousands" of confirmatory emails, but submitted an e-mail address that led to an autoresponder that replied back to these emails with the following text:

"Thank you for your offer which I'm considering... and will read it and respond asap. In the meantime, please have a look at my web site yourself to this free marketing tool: http://www.nosecretmarketing.com.
Kind Regards,
Teodor“

Also, Google and Yahoo mail has “Vacation Setting” option so it’s easy to do it. Outlook Express also has message rule function which we can use to achieve a similar effect. Simply click on tools / message rules / mail / mail rules / new / where the message is from the specified account (the e-mail account you intend to receive confirmatory spam with) /reply with message, then specify the message you want to reply with.

Don't forget to also freely distribute your Google / Yahoo email address to multiple mailing lists, classified ads sites, and anywhere that is likely to get your address "spammed".

The best part is when "spambots" and bulk e-mail address harvesters pick up your email address and you'll be promoting your site to many people with absolutely no effort on your part at all! My subscriber list is bigger now but still have to work to get my email addresses to spambots.

So, it's better to follow Jeunelle's advice!. Try to close the account and open new one. Or setup to delete bulk emails. By redirecting to the autoresponder I see I have not very good results...

If you are stubborn and insist on your precious FFA'S & AB BLASTER'S.
Here is a tip to consider.

You are going to get JUNK MAIL AND THAT'S A FACT.
Open or apply for a Free Email account. Get a Free Gmail account.

Use this email when you are using these FFa's and Ad Blasters.
All the junk mail can go there and not in your regular email account.

Later when you have some spare time you can delete what you don't want from the pile of Junk mail.

If you do not want to delete you can later ask gmail to close the junk mail account. This is done quickly.
Once closed you can never get the account back but you can open another gmail account whenever you want for whatever reason.

Not only does FFA'S not work. Another major problem is AD BLASTERS.

Please people run from these Ad Blasters.
Most come with hidden viruses.

Some make me laugh with their primitive red line showing you that the submission is going through.

Are you to believe that the company is actually submitting the Ad Blast and that you will see any traffic. They do not even show any statistics.
So how is this going to be helpful?

Most of these Companies close down only to reopen again at a different site but same format.
This usually happens when people have complained that they were robbed.

These Masterminds then close down the site and reopen with a different Ad Blaster Link but run by the same owner.

Try to get your money back and you can here distant laughter.
LIKE I SAID RUN.

I'm not submitting anymore to FFA but in the past I did and still have about 1000 junk emails coming in my mail boxes. So, I had to do something about it, to cancel email accounts or to redirect emails to my autoresponder. Today, you're right, is not good to deal with FFA, at all, but you still receive junk mails, so those should be redirected.

Hi Coach,

FFA page is now being banned by the big boys of search engine marketing. It used to work before but as it is being abused, it becomes useless and obsolete.

If you are an FFA site owner, you will greatly benefit from this as what Jeff advised, you reverse engineer the scenario.

You will be promoting your products to all members that will be joining to your FFA page.

Do you know of any FFA reseller? I believe they are making money from this, otherwise, they are already extinct......

Your use of reverse marketing makes good sense, also using a throw-away email address in the mix when signing up for free stuff is a very good idea, too-- they forward your mail to a selected address- say for example your auto-responder at Gmail- and you never have to even see the stuff! LOL! :)

Try this- use a free Gishpuppy.com email to sign up for an FFA- set Gishpuppy to forward your mail to Gmail- set up the Gmail auto-responder with your marketing message and forget it!

I was I had thought of this during the early days- but "Experience Is The Best Teacher!"
