Offset your Carbon Footprint
by Janet Matthews Health and Nutrition WriterThere is no wonder the majority of people world wide are suffering from Environmental Confusion.
The news and the media in general provide us with such conflicting evidence and opinions that it is hard to know which way to jump.
On the one hand we hear that online, the “buzz†on environmental issues is up 169% from a year ago, and suggests that there is heightened awareness of terms such as “green†and “climate change†(according to Neilson’s BuzzMetrics). A lot of this is due to Al Gore’s documentary “An Inconvenient Truthâ€, since which environmental issues have been high on the agenda in blogs and forums alike.
On the other hand we hear that companies are just paying lip service to environmental issues. Many are not taking the issue seriously and of the companies who do have a board level responsibility for energy and the environment only 45% have a program to cut their carbon footprint. However – we "lesser mortals" are more than capable of making
our own minds up. Each one of us has the ability to improve our own awareness
of environmental issues. Some may be so bold as to say we have a duty, if only for the future of our children and grandchildren.
It is now possible online to work out your own carbon footprint and then
decide what you are going to do to offset
it

Hi Eric - Thanks for your comment. I have noticed your profile before as you are with ONE Group. I also belong to ONE Group but haven't promoted it as a business. I love the products - which are so pertinent to environmental awareness and things natural and organic. Please add me to your Skype. My id is lindajanetmatthews Oct 1st 2007 07:12 |

Janet, Thanks for your highly relevant post. At last week's environmental conference, world environment lovers and activists were once again disappointed with 'words' rather than action. As a result, the health and wellbeing of our collective planetary home will not receive the swift care it deserves. Keep up the great work to help build awareness so our and our children's collective future home will have adequate supplies of clean air without the need for expensive oxygen equipment or 'safe' air, enclosed spaces. Blessings, Angela. Oct 1st 2007 11:38 |

Global warming may be inevitable. I’m not sure. I know there are people that don’t believe it’s happening. But no one can deny air pollution in many parts of the world. I am doing something about it. Even people that don’t care about the environment still want to save money though. If we can get them to save money, they WILL help the environment. Yes, I make money with this. But I would promote it even if I didn’t. Oct 19th 2007 13:49 |

Janet good article and boy do I believe global warming is a fact. More people need to get on the band wagon now before it's to late. We all have only one earth to live on and we better start taking care of better than we have. Kudos Reta Oct 26th 2007 11:46 |
