Always a bridesmaid, never a bride

Always a bridesmaid, never a bride. A bit of a cliche saying but sometimes it just sums up how I feel these days. It seems that many of my friends have recently gotten married and I am always flattered to be a bridesmaid, yet wondering in the back of my mind, 'when is it my turn?' Everyone says that your time will come and so I wait. Thinking of all I have learned from past weddings, the do's and don't's, the bridal magazines to read, the family expectations, places to visit on your honeymoon. It seems that being a bridesmaid is just a building block to my very own special day and I should be happy for these experiences so that I may one day perfect my perfect day. :)

Hehe, I read your blogspot. It struck me a little different for being on a social business network, but can perfectly relate to you nonetheless.

I'm in your same boat...always being in weddings, yet wondering when they day it will come for my turn. It's always refreshing to see a closely-knit couple -- especially with ever-increasing devorce rates around the world.

This world would be such a better place if couples would just make up their minds to make it work, and choose to workout their differences. Like my father always said..."most problems that occur between a couple are due to "selfishness" from either one, or both parties. If all selfishness were laid aside from both parties, most problems could be solved in 5 minutes or less"---boy, does that make a lot of sense!

Evians

All I can say is 2 things .

1) you must be a lovely girl as proven by your friends wanting you by their side on their big day

2) you are a beautiful looking girl

So, with them 2 massive things in your favour, it is only a matter of time before you find Mr Right and you will know straight away when this happens

I am in the same boat myself . I am just turned 32, have been best man for 2 of my friends and I have yet to find Mrs Right, but i know deep down it will happen.

In the meantime I enjoy all the wonderful things that life in Ireland has to offer and I know that when i least expect to meet the right person, that it is when it will happen

Cheers

James

Evian,

I know that it is hard keeping faith that you will find the right person to marry. I was there.

I prayed to God(Jesus) that he would help me find the right girl to marry for a lifetime, and he did it through a blind date! We have been happily married since 1991! Keep trusting God!
