10 Tips To Stay Safe While Traveling

by Puja Sharma Content Writer

A holiday at one of the resorts in Kerala backwaters or the beach resorts in Goa — who would say no to that! However, it is important to stay safe while travelling. Follow these dos and don’ts and you can have a safe and fun-filled holiday:

  • First things first, get travel insurance if you are going on a long holiday. Whether you are an international or domestic traveller heading to one of the resorts in Kerala backwaters or any other place such as Goa, you can seek travel insurance so you are safe from any medical/accident-related emergencies, delays or lost baggage.
  • Keep all your emergency numbers in one place. If you don’t have time for that, ask the concierge at one of the beach resorts in Goa you are staying in for important numbers.
  • When you are checking in to one of the resorts or hotels, always ask the front desk about which number you need to dial for an emergency. Most well-equipped hotels have these numbers in the room for your use. Good hotels and resorts also give you a list of local numbers you may need.
  • Try and pick up local language — a few phrases that can help you communicate. Most people in Kerala or Goa, the famous holiday destinations in India, are well-versed with English, but it could still help if you could learn a few phrases of the local language.
  • Both Kerala backwaters and beaches in Goa have many water sport options and adventure tours, but follow instructions carefully while participating.
