by Monna B. teacher

There is no better thing than being able to travel. Having the opportunity to see so many different and fun places is truly a unique experience and there is no better way to remember those moments forever other than taking lots of photos.

You really don’t need to be a professional photographer in order to take great quality pictures. It can actually be a lot easier than you imagine and all it takes is a little bit of practice. Here are some tips to help you practice and take pictures which will not only be of great quality but also mean a lot to you.

1. Always have your camera with you

If you want to be able to not only practice but to also get shots of all the cool things you come across, the best thing you can do is always have your camera with you, charged and ready to take new pictures.

Not only will you be able to capture all of the things you consider important, but you will also be able to keep practicing your photography skills until you are able to know exactly what you want to capture.

2. Use a selfie stick

Using a selfie stick can really help you fit a lot of things into your pictures. You really don’t have to use selfie sticks just for selfies. If you’re a little more creative, you can easily get cool shots from a higher angle and give your pictures a whole new perspective.

3. Take pictures of the people who travel with

Making memories is all about including all the people you traveled within your photos. There are so many funny moments which you can capture in pictures. The good thing is that all the spontaneous ones don’t even have to be of great quality.

Each picture that has a meaning to you is simply amazing and there is nothing more that could make it any more fun to look at and remember those special moments you spent with your friends.

4. Take pictures from high places

If there is some sort of place in the country that you’re visiting like a hill or a tall building, you can take that as an opportunity to capture a very cool picture. High places give you the opportunity to take amazing pictures of the entire city and be able to see every little street and park in the city you’re visiting.

This way you can look back at the picture and point out all the interesting places you visited during your stay and remember all the nice times you experienced.

5. Take panoramic photos

Whether you have a camera with you or simply just your smartphone, you are bound to have a panoramic picture option wherever you go. There are so many great opportunities to take panoramic pictures.

No matter if you’re in the center of a busy city, a museum or by the beach watching the sunset, you should use the panoramic setting on your device to capture the beauty around you. Getting used to taking such pictures might be a little tricky at first but the great shots will just be so rewarding.

6. Find the perfect lighting

One of the things you can do to instantly take better photos is to keep in mind that the human eye is a lot more adaptable to the light than the lens of your camera. What this means essentially is that when you take a picture, your camera might not give you a picture of something in the exact same way that you see it in real life.

In order to overcome this and give your photos a better quality is to focus solely on what it is that you’re trying to capture and work with the lighting that is available. For example, you should make sure that if you’re trying to take a picture during the day, the sun is not behind you but rather in front of you, as you will be able to capture a much brighter picture without any shadows.

7. Take pictures of local meals

One of the trends in our era is to always take photos of our food. Now, when you’re in a new country, the food that you will be eating you will probably not be able to find back home. This is a perfect opportunity for you to take pictures of all the interesting and new meals you try and keep the memories of them until next time you can have them.

A good idea for this is to also take up the habit of writing the names of the dishes you try on the back of the picture. This way, you will be able to remember and ask for them again on a future trip.

8. Take pictures of the locals

Locals in each country and city might have their own interesting and unique traits whether it comes to their clothing or their appearance. In any case, you should always take photos of the people you communicate with, if they are okay with it of course.

This way you will be able to always keep in mind the vibe of the place you visited and you will create beautiful pictures of local people going about their everyday lives.

9. Capture photos of local events

If you’re an outgoing type and would like to experience a local event you should definitely take your camera with you. Not only will you be able to catch a glimpse of the country’s traditional dances or meals but you will also be able to capture images which portray the life of the locals in a completely new environment.

10. Keep your lens clear

Last but not least, it is definitely important to remember to always keep your lenses of your camera clean in order to get high quality and focused photos. No matter what you’re trying to capture, it is always a bummer to take a great picture only to realize later that it’s blurry.

Taking amazing pictures can be fun

When traveling, the very first thing that should be on your mind is to have fun and gain a lot of new experiences. The best way to keep the memories of these things forever is to take photos of all the things that meant something to you. This will truly help you remember every single moment and share those special moments with your loved ones.
