What next after 12th - big question for students

After 12th every student has to go through a phase where they have to decide what to choose as a career? They usually undergo questions like I want to become a doctor but I don't think there is much scope for it, I don't want to become an engineer because I am weak in maths and so on.

Moreover, the choice of a career depends on the job prospects of the field and certainly with the interest of the candidate. Some prefer the flow; some think about the interest, while some obey their parents.
