A simple way to deck out your nails for the holidays is with a festival element like candy canes! To achieve this design, all you need are red and white nail polish as well as a roll of tape. Just have a look at the step-by-step tutorial.

Step 1: According to the style, the first thing you should do is to apply a layer of opaque white polish as the base coat. So choosing the right base coat for yourself. You’d better apply two thin layers of it, so as to prevent streaking.

Step 2: After the base coat gets dry completely, you can start to cut strips of tape that are used to create the candy cane stripes successfully. In this step, you must be as careful as you can, or your effort will be vain fully. After cutting, it is time for you to apply them diagonally across your nails.

Step 3: Now, the last step is coming. That means you need to paint over the tape with a festive red polish. You can regard this soak off gel polish as your first choice because its rich metallic hue was the perfect complement to the creamy white base. While the red lacquer is still wet, gently rip off each strip of tape to reveal your candy cane stripes obviously.
