Should My Blog Or Article Be Open For Comments
by Terry Warner My Leads Call MeWriting a blog or article every day takes planning and
forethought as well as copy writing skills. It isn’t easy to write every single
day and stay on subject. Some days your copy writing will flow easily and
everyone will be pleased. Some days your article will miss the target audience
and lack appeal.
Allowing comments for a blog or article takes certain extra
steps than not allowing comments. In other words, writing to allow for comments
means you will have to monitor the blog or article for lewd and uncomplimentary
remarks.
Make sure you personally approve all comments so web bots
and crawlers don’t link your article to porn sites or make nasty comments. If
it is a criticism, delete it. This is your article/blog and you alone regulate
the comments.
It is not open for discussion or critique, it is strictly
being allowed so others can confirm your
expertise. It is not for the purpose of showing the readers that you can handle
critique or criticism but comments are allowed only to buttress your article
and subject.
For a long time I didn’t allow any comments to be made on my
article writing. I then opened comment section up and at first had very many
porn and web bots filling in junk. It would sound real nice but wouldn’t make
any sense. I was really impressed that so many people were reading my blog.
After doing some research and back tracking the links, I
found out I was being taken advantage of and I was driving undesirable traffic
to my web site. Undesirable traffic that was making my web page rank lower than
normal.
I added a plug in that made the person entering the comments
type in a simpler but moving captcha. This eliminated the bots and then I still
approved the comment.
In that case, should my article be open for comments?
Actually, yes it should. Opening your article for comments helps your article
get noticed more quickly, more exposure, and advertises you as an expert.
The same would apply to your blog. Open the blog up for
comments and then pick and choose the comments that advertise and show off your
expertise.
Good writing,
