India - The Ultimate Travel Guide

India, a melting pot of religion,
language and culture. A trip through the stretch of India can never be a boring
one. With every new trip, you learn something different. It is a new experience
every time you visit a new destination. After almost going around India for
quite a few times now, I still find some place new to see every time I go to a
place where I have already been to earlier. Uttarakhand is a holiday hotspot
and I can’t even remember how many times I have been there but still every time
this place never fails to surprise me. My last visit to Uttarakhand took me to
a place called Chaukori, suggested by a local; it is a small hill station
located in the Pithoragargh district. It is a scenic beauty as it lies between
high peaks of the western ranges of Himalaya. It is at an elevation of 2000
meters and offers the best view of the Panchchuli Mountains, Nanda Devi and
Nanda Kot mountains. I was dumbstruck with its beauty and was awed by its
religious touch. The culture of this part is very different but as a matter of
fact every region in India has its own culture and it is famous for it. Not
only culture even clothing, food, language every little thing varies from place
to place making India very colourful.
Travelling around the country has always
been a roller coaster of emotions for me. Some destinations and their culture
gets the better of me. When I travelled to the interiors of Rajasthan, I
couldn’t believe that bonded labour and child marriage was still practiced
there. Despite being a dessert land this city is very colourful but you can
still find customs and cultural practices which you thought do not exist
anymore being practiced as a very normal ritual. Rajasthan has one of the best
cuisines. It is mostly famous for its desserts. There are some of the most
beautiful places that you can visit. You should always consider carrying
something warm during the night as in some areas the nights get chilly. The
best time to visit Rajasthan is during the month of December and January. The
beauty and the history of this place tend to cast a spell over you. Domestic flights to Rajasthan is easily
available from anywhere in India. If we see into the statistics India is a vast
country, it has 29 states each state with its own history, culture, language,
attire and cuisines. Our constitution recognises 18 0fficial languages but as a
matter of fact there are almost 1600 dialects here. Sometimes this language
barrier causes many problems for a traveller but the national language Hindi is
known by all.
The topography of India depends totally
on where you are travelling. The north is the home to the most beautiful
mountain ranges and has a panoramic view, while the south is complete opposite
it is very scenic but it is tropical and mostly hot. When we talk about south
the first place that pops up in my mind is Kerala, the land of spices which is the
home to some of the most picturesque beaches, temples and the backwaters.
Whereas the East, West and central India is the home to the valleys, beaches,
plains and fields. If you are travelling through the state of UP the elite
history of the land will keep you glued. Every monument you visit has its own
history. UP is also the home to the one of the 7 wonders of the world, The Taj
Mahal. Its sparkling white marble and the centuries old story of its coming
into being is like the touch of magic. A visit to the Taj Mahal will
automatically tap your romantic side as after all it is the symbol of love.
If you are a budget traveller it is wise
for you to book flights to only the main cities and travel by train to the
other places near it. This just cuts down your travel budget. You can even take
busses if you are comfortable in it. The airfare
to some of the most visited tourist spots are always high so it is always
advisable to book your flights way beforehand. Some of the cities in India is
famous for its nightlife. If you are a party animal you should not miss out the
nightlife of Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore and Goa. Goa is famous for its
parties that last all night. Its beach parties attract people from all over the
world. The nightlife of the other cities is also awesome but matching the
standards of Goa is tough.
If you are planning a vacation to some foreign land think again as there is no place with such a vast and diverse. Every city in India is different from each other. So, explore India and expect the unexpected from the trip.
