How to Select Different Kinds of Food Conveyor Belts

Conveyor belts are used to transport various kinds of material in the factory and other manufacturing facilities, which play more and more important impact in conveying industry, because it not only can save the labor capital, but also can ensure products sanitary and non-contamination from bacteria especially in the food industry. The different conveyor belts are often divided into different type according to their construction and material, and then the different conveyors are applying into different food products on the basis of properties. These conveyor belts include belts made from stainless steel, rubber and plastic.

☢ The stainless steel is popular material made from food conveyor with the food production industry, although the costs are more expensive than other conveyor belts. The main reason is that the stainless steel belts are nontoxic and odorless, so which are unlikely to contaminate food. The other reason is that it has features of compact structure and smooth surface, which can prevent bacterial and microbes from infiltrating into the food. The last benefits is that this material can withstand high temperature which the manufacturing and processing generate much heat.

☢ The rubber conveyor belts are another option to convey food products, because these material belts tend to spend lower cost than the others. Comparing with the stainless steel belts, the rubber material can endure frequent washing and exposure from a variety of chemicals, and maybe more absorbent than metal belts, so the rubber belts are impossible to protect food products from bacterial and microbes, because of the bacterial and microbes can infiltrating into the small areas below the surface of the belts leading to risk of contamination. Thus, rubber belts can not often used to process high-risk food, like meat, but can be used in other food processing application.

☢ The last one, plastic belts conveyor, have turn to receive favor from many food producers. The belts are made from extremely hard and dense plastic, which are able to resist tears, rips, and holes. They are very smooth surface to easily wash and are non-absorbent to easy clean. The biggest limitation is that it can not withstand high temperature during processing.

So, we should choose different material on the basis of different needs. If only make a wise determination, the cost-effective expenditure can be saved for us
