As poverty line an income of 979 EUR applies in Germany for a single

person per month (or 11,749 EUR per year). For two adults and two children under the age of 14, the threshold value is 2,056 EUR per month (24,673 EUR per year).

These average gross earnings of all insured by law, the Federal Government establishes each year. It is an important metric for determining the statutory pension. Those who earn a salary in the amount of the average salary, will receive a pension point.

2015-34999 Euro

2014-34857 Euro

2013-34071 Euro

With 41,000 euros gross the example would be less than 2000 euros net that is available / month!
