Dry and Wet cutting saw blades

by Shekhar C. Digital Marketer
The most adaptable or versatile blades perhaps known have the high grit level cutting and sawing especially like diamond saw blades. There are critical and important in various industrial uses for the simplification of making cuts and sawing. The need for the removal of debris, shaping or trimming of stones and structures plus other forms of substances at construction sites and in the lapidary industry they find prominent application of these blades.

Dry cutting saw blades
Diamond saw blades have many uses but there are specific uses that require dry cutting to achieve optimum blade life and good sawing results. Dry cutting helps cut material to desired size and shape. For instance in industrial sectors like;
-Industrial products and uses that require dry sawing like cutting electrical cables and semiconductors plates.
-Keeping precautions and guarding against friction and overheating which erode blade sharpness and preciseness of cuts.
-Masonry, ceramics or steel plate cutting for fabrication purposes.

Wet cutting saw blades

Friction is inevitable and where two surfaces collide and create heat. Wet cutting saw blades facilitate;
-Precise cutting and keep a low pressure on the blade rims for a longer life.
-Less generation of friction with a water coolant makes less dust.
-Enhanced safety incase excessive erosion of grit as the blade cools down much faster.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Dry and Wet Cutting
In each case the importance is on safety and optimum cut results. Advantages or disadvantages are two pronged or ways.

-Dry cutting limits hazards of accidents in critical industry like electrical or delicate metal parts of semiconductors. It limits risks like electrical shock.
-Wet cutting reduces the friction overload on blades and ensures extended saw blade usage. It also enhances precise cuts as breakage of parts is minimal.
-Dry cutting in masonry cost effective and less time consuming. It does create sludge or wet environment or slippery floors surfaces.
-Wet cutting is less exerting on the blade as it enhances cooler blade run. The risk of blade breakage and splinters is quite less.

Diamond saw blades provide optimum cutting ability in the right environment. With correct protection and precautions it achieves relevant cutting potential.
