Alaska is one of the most costly destinations for anybody enjoying traveling around the world. Located in the Northwest extremity of North America, Alaska might prove to be a challenge even for experienced travellers ready to discover new places on Earth.

A journey to Alaska takes days, even weeks depending on where one starts his journey. In Alaska, there are no roads and the only way to visit the State is taking a ferryboat. Since it is so faraway and isolated, the accommodation is quite expensive here. Few places in the World are known for such as breathtaking beauty and grandeur as Alaska is. For adventurous people with extra time and money, Alaska is definitely the best travel destination.

Stunning scenery

One of the most stunning sights you can visit in Alaska is Mount McKinley, the Highest Peak in North America. The mountain reflects in the water of WONDER LAKE AT DENALI NATIONAL PARK, which should also be visited.

Wild life is such an abundance here, one can see lots of wild animals such as bears, wolves, ravens, eagles, whales in their natural habitat. In addition, Ice and glacier is common in Alaska. An extraordinary sight to visit is GLACIER BAY NATIONAL PARK which reveals the largest accumulation of glaciers on water in the State.

As means of transportation, you can pay for a ferry, but can travel as well by plane which are located next to the ferry's. In this State, many people have pilot licenses and can own their personal plane.

The food grows wild

As culinary specialities, there are some selections of foods that tourists may enjoy eating in Alaska. Wild berries, salmon, moose and reindeer are some of the most important food sources in Alaska. Traditional Alaskan bread is called Sour dough bread and stands for slag, meaning a person who lives in Alaska.

An interesting experience for a traveller is meeting indigenous people of Alaska. Talking with an Eskimo is a great cultural exchange as one finds out that indigenous people have their own art, language and traditions.

Travellers who happen to visit Alaska between September and April have the chance to see the wonderful aurora Borealis. The best viewing is in the Fairbanks area and the peak time to watch this kind of natural phenomena is after the midnight.

Another attraction for those fascinated by history is the University of Alaska Museum of the North which shelters over a million historical artefacts and natural history pieces.
