CAT Admit Card

CAT Admit Card would be issued on 15 October 2015 for all the candidates who have successfully registered for the respective online examination to be held on 29 November 2015 for admission in MBA postgraduate programs in IIMs and other participating B-schools. There is just one mode to obtain the admit card i.e. online on the official website of the exam. No other mode exists as IIMs would not deliver the admit card to the candidate’s residential address in post or courier. There are basically two broad functions of the Admit Card of CAT:

• It acts as a proof of identity at the various stages of examination and admission. A candidate, if fails to bring the original admit card to the exam hall, would not be allowed to take the test. Attendance in the exam hall is subject to producing of the CAT Admit Card by the candidate when the official demands. It is required to bring a government approved photo ID proof to the examination hall along with its photocopy.
  
  
• Admit card also notifies a candidate about the date, time, and venue for the examination. It is a good move to reach the exam center at least half an hour before the time specified on the admit card. Any candidate reaching the exam center late would not be allowed to take the test. Some candidates prefer visiting the exam center a day before to get an idea of the traffic and conveyance conditions.

Name of the candidate, photo, signature, date of birth, category, exam date, exam time, exam venue, application number, roll number, and password – these are some of the details a candidate can find on the CAT Admit Card. If any discrepancy is detected, he must contact the XAT officials with immediate effect. All these details would be in accordance to the information supplied by the candidate in the application form.

Process of downloading admit card in online mode

A candidate can download the admit card from the official website of the examination. First, he has tologin into his account by using the application number and password created at the time of online registration. On logging in, the candidate can check the direct link to download the CAT 2015 Call letter. He has to click the link to download the admit card in PDF format. Once the file is downloaded, candidate can proceed to generate its printout. It is suggested to take at least 5-6 copies of the CAT Admit Card.

Word of caution for CAT Exam Admit Card

Since admit card is an important document, no candidate must make any marks on it using pen or pencil.Any kind of tampering with the information therein would be dealt strictly which may eventually lead to ban from the examination and imprisonment. Impersonation is a criminal offence punishable under IPC. Keep the CAT 2015 Call Letter in the best of condition and free from soiling, mutilation, and unnecessary folding.
