As far as cat 2012 notification on eligibility is concerned, the candidate must hold a bachelors degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA awarded by any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or stage legislature in India or other educational institutes established by an act of parliament or declared to be deemed as a university under section 3 of the UGC act, 1956. The criterion for SC, ST and disabled persons is 45%. As per the seat reservation, the government of India has announced 15% of the seats for scheduled cast (SC) and 7 ½ for scheduled tribe (ST) whereas 27 % of the seats are reserved for other backward classes belonging to non-creamy layer (NC-OBC).
As the exam pattern keeps changing every year, preparing for a new syllabus every year is the most challenging tasks in its own way. Well, the pattern of the exam is divided into two categories namely quantitative ability & data interpretation and verbal ability & logical reasoning where each section is divided into 30 questions with 70 minutes of time duration.
