Attraction Marketing

Social network marketing, attraction marketing, funnel marketing, All are terms coined to describe a method of generating leads where you do not go out pounding on doors or buying worthless leads that have already been sold 10, 20 or more times.

With this type of marketing you are not pestering your friends and harassing every family member you can corner. Instead you have interested people come to you, asking you for more information on your offering.

Traditionally, in direct selling you are told to write up a list of 200 people you know, pick up the phone and call them, then rush right over and have them sign up to make you rich!

Sound familiar? You know exactly what is going to happen with your friends and family, right? I mean you have in all likelihood trapped these people before, in their own homes or in yours and made them suffer through your "presentation" of this opp or that one.

They are going to "RUN" if they get even the slightest whiff of any attempt on your part to do it again. After all, they know you and your track record not to mention your credibility with them is probably not too good.

Sometimes you are offered the chance to buy 'qualified' leads generated in a mysterious way that you must then call up, introduce yourself and talk into joining... all sight unseen and most often they have already been called by many other sales people. I have personally been called about a form I filled out "4 YEARS AGO!" Go figure.

Buying leads, well that is just a simple way to drain your wallet, have you listening to answering machines and get a lot of confidence shattering "NO's" in record time. So what can you do? How can you get your business going if you can't talk to the people you know?

The answer is... you need people who want to do business with you, coming to you! You need to go outside of your contact list and find people who want what you have. Think about this... how many times have you failed because nobody would give you the time of day, let alone sit down with you, so that you could show them your awesome offering?

1 or 2 friends or family joined because they felt sorry for you, then did nothing. A few months later, a little poorer and with no activity in your business you drop out and join the 94+% of people who didn't make it.

I am here to tell you that it does not have to be that way! You can join any MLM or any business you want and succeed to the level of your dreams but it is with you that the first change needs to happen.

Why, because people don't really care about your offering or how great your company is. Lots of times its not even the product that matters. They care about people, people like you. What can YOU do for them, what can YOU teach them, how can YOU help them.

This business is all about people and what you can do for them। If you're not a people person then its not for you. On the other hand if you are a people person you will need to learn or refine a few things, lets look at some of the key components....

Great insights Udo. We network marketers all need people who want to do business with us... COMING TO US - WOW!!. I say "wow" because this is something that rarely happens to most of us network marketers. These are the (priceless) people who will really be interested in joining our businesses and growing theirs too once they see what can we can do for them, teach and help them.

Hi Udo, I totally agree with what you explain in your article and yet - 2 people are behaving the same way, both are using all tactics that people get interested in the offer - 1 of them get a lot of followers, engaged and active and the other one hardly 1. Therefore to my opinion a lot has to do with the person who has to ask herself what he/she really wants. The one with less success might have interests which have nothing to do with the business he promotes... At this point: we should ask ourselves from time to time: what do I really want for my life? It is not said that everything is working well for everybody. (although some may say this)

Hi, Udo, I really loved and enjoyed reading this, since there are so many scams around and lots of marketers that only target the wallet of all their leads...
Yes, I totally backup this article with my 18 years of business practice! The only business EVER, and I mean EVER, means PEOPLE^PEOPLE^PEOPLE. Which, translated into other words, People rised at People exponent, and so on! Everzthing is about US!! YOU, ME, HE, SHE, HIM, HER, THEM. Briefly, US! WE are anything and everything!
When you forget this, all the business is "Gone With The Wind"!

Right to the point Udo. That is one thing I have found with APSense right off the hop is that finally - a Social Network that I can become a member of where I am Not getting spammed. With offers completely useless to me because the sender hasn't bothered to get to know anything about me - what my needs or problems are. I like to think of Social Networking like moving into a new community & going out for a leisurely walk in my new neighborhood. Getting to know my new neighbors. Overtime, one learns about another. Conversation is key. Learning about each other. They may have a nifty tool, product or service that could serve you well too. Networking. Not Selling! Thanks for driving this point home. I think we all could lend advice to educate those who blatantly blast their sales pitch without knowing anything about those they are targeting.

Reike I guarantee you the 2 are not behaving the same way. If you put people first, magic happens. If you put your own interests first you will fail more often than not. CC, sorry but getting to know somebody, making friends etc IS selling..its just ourselves we sell :)
