Free autoresponders vs Paid autoresponders

by Mario Miguel Membership websites Consultant

There are free email autoresponders and paid email autoresponders. Depending on your goals, the money that you have at your disposal and how serious you are about your online business there are a few options for you.

The first one is http://www.listwire.com

List wire is in my opinion the best free autoresponder. It doesn't have limits on the number of subscribers that you can have, the limit of messages that you can send and it does as much good job as paid ones.

It allows you to track your message links, gives you your emails open rates, it is easy to integrate on your website.

The problem about list wire is that the messages take a while to arrive to your prospects inbox and that is something that you need to take in consideration. Just think about it, you grab your prospects interest and then he will have to wait for your confirmation message to arrive, I don't think so, with all of the things that are going on online these days the last thing that your prospect will do is to wait for your stuff..

The second free option is http://www.mailchimp.com

This is a service that is extremely picky.. They don't allow most of the big niches therefore I just don't see the point on picking their service. Even if you don't operate on a big niche just the fact that you won't be able to do it to me just makes the service not worthwhile.

The allow you to have 2000 free subscribers and send 12,000 messages per month (a little bit more than 1 message per week). It is not a lot but hey if you're on a budget it is an option.

The third free solution is http://www.icontact.com

Icontact is one of the best autoresponder providers. It allows you to segment your list wich is great because you can send a different message to the people that didn't open your email (only for those people). Other service providers will give you the open rate (percentage of people that opened your email and didn't opened but won't allow you to send a message just for the people that didn't opened the email) .

The only things that I didn't like about Icontact were that the optin forms that they provide are awful. We're in the 21'st century and now everyone likes professional looking things not things that looked like they were done by a 5 year old kid. Also it is not really intuitive.

As paid solutions we have aweber, icontact, and mail chimp.

I'm only going to talk about aweber because I've already talked about the other ones.

So http://www.aweber.com

It is the easiest one to use and the most known one. It is super easy to integrate aweber with 3rd party solutions and they have good looking forms that will suite any bloggers needs (at least beginners).

It doesn't allow you to segment your list.
