Marketing Ethics

by M. Josiah

First, here's something that is fast becoming the most fundamental aspects of marketing to get right, especially if you want to build a truly sustainable high quality organisation (of any size) in the modern age:

Ensure the ethics and philosophy of your organisation are good and sound. This might seem a bit tangential to marketing and business, and rather difficult to measure, nevertheless...

Price is no longer the king, if it ever was. Value no longer rules, if ever it did. Quality of service and product is not the deciding factor.

Today what truly matters is ethical and philosophical quality - from the bottom to the top - in every respect - across every dimension of the organisation.

Modern consumers, business buyers, staff and suppliers too, are today more interested than ever before in corporate integrity, which is defined by the organisation's ethics and philosophy.

Good sound ethics and philosophy enable and encourage people to make 'right and good' decisions, and to do right and good things. It's about humanity and morality; care and compassion; being good and fair.

Good your reasoning, my friend.

It would be very good for the world of marketing act this way, putting ethics to benefit its likely customers. But what we see, especially in this vehicle (WEB) is something devastating: priceless promises, plans without any foundation encouraging that wealth can be gained only by a few dollars.
There are dozens, hundreds and thousands of pages built with one goal: to enjoy their owner, and make desolate the unwary and naive who paid to see!

Ethics, fairness, and honesty will build a personal brand. At the end of the day you can live guilt free and people will trust you when you run your business with ethics. Recently I tried to warn several marketers I know about Brian Lindback and Kooday. I told them where to go on Google, not even our search engine to see over 3800 scam complaints and legal filings. I showed them the business model for Search Big Daddy another notorious scam that was copied for Kooday, and yet was attacked as the messenger for not helping them secure more victims and allowing them to be blind sheep in hopes of making back the money they already paid out.

Those folks need to read your post, because they have seen the proof in black and white and it didn't come from me, I was just trying to help them out and save them heart ache.
