Starting an online business
by Benburb How to's and questions are too inumerable to mention when considering starting a business nevermind an online business. When I studied business planning many years ago (albeit the tourism buisiness) I was taught that the three most important things to consider when starting a business werelocation, location, location. Now this advice seems to be outdated and I'm sure no longer considered or even frowned upon by our young friends of Generation "i". Hell, I can't even type properly, so what do I know about an online business. This is the first blog I've ever written, for years having thought it was an exclusive device reserved for egocentrics who wanted to keep Mom and Dad and Grandmama updated about their global adventures, how they got robbed in Guatemala or how terrified they were bungee jumping in Nicaragua or how wet they got in Kakadu! Needless to say my cynicism has never been rewarded that well.
I digress. Everything seems to be attainable via the internet. With all the legitimate businesses (ones with a tangible product or service) and all the illegitimate ones (scams), starting a business is veritable minefield that even Bruce Willis would fit intimidating. Any advice is always welcome.
I think reading is very important, finding out stuff, separating the legitimacy from the bastard, establishing a foundation and making great contacts and friends (support network) kindred spirits.
Writing this first of many future blogs (I hope) is the first step I am taking in what I regard as my new adventure. Before I set out I must confess continuity has always been a weakness of mine, but what I write will come from my heart and limited experience.
So in conclusion I thank you for reading this blog and anyone who is as big a greenhorn as me is welcome to contact me. My next step will be some product research and then another blog when hopefully I can confess some more.
