POTTY TRAINING PUPPIES
The first and most important point through out puppy training is ALLWAYS BE CONSISTENT.

If there is more then 1 person involved in the training of the puppy, you must agree before hand on set commands to use both for praise and when the pup has an accident

The fist step
Knowing when your puppy needs to be let out

Puppies need to urinate frequently, at first it can be as often as every hour but this will change once bladder control is learnt.
Signs to look for whimpering is the most common also circling, sniffing the floor, restlessness, returning to a previously soiled spot,
If you spot one of these take your puppy outside close the door and watch the dog but do not stare, they will wonder about for a while to get used to all the new smells no matter how urgently they need to go. If they go then you need to praise the dog while near the spot, Use a stroke and give them a small dog treat, this is where the consistency starts , when parsing use the same words and the same treat so they associate urinating in this spot as a good thing, be sure to use soft strokes from head to tale and a soft tone when speaking ( good boy ) the stroke treat and praise should also be given in the same order, within as short a time as short as 1 day with new puppies he/ she will quickly realize that this is the right place to go and if done here he/ she will be treated.
If the pup does not go when you take them out, bring the pup back into the house and watch them closely for 5-10 minuets then return them to the garden, repeat this till the puppies has urinated outside, then follow with stroke treat praise.

HOW TO DEAL WITH ACIDENTS
If you catch your puppy in the act of going potty in the house, the best thing to do is correct the puppy with a firm NO (not shouting as this will scare the dog and all we want to do is correct it) pick the dog up and take it to the correct area, then once it has finished follow this with stoke treat praise.
Puppies associate punishment with the presence of the owner This can cause long term problems with your puppy with a fear of the owner If your puppy has an accident and you did not catch them in the act only after it is pointless to punish the dog for this action.

IT IS TOO LATE, A PUPPY WILL NOT CONNECT YOUR FRUSTRATION AND ANGER WITH A PREVIOUS ACTION.

By always using the same door to the same area using the same commands at the same times can illuminate this, the dog will the associate, this is the right place to go and if I go here I will get a stoke and treat this in itself is enough encouragement for the dog to want to use the same area each time and not your house
