Online support & counselling service
Nov 12 2016 17:21
Online Counselling is an innovative approach to counselling, devised for clients who seek an alternative to traditional Face to Face counselling. It is verbal and visual support communicated via Skype or Windows Live Messenger.

Online support and counselling service gives you an opportunity to share your stresses and concerns in privacy.

Online support & counselling service is NOT:
  • an effective way to deal with severe or acute mental health crises or safety issues such as suicidal thoughts, bi-polar disorder or psychotic episodes
  • a replacement for Face to Face psychotherapy

Online and telephone counselling is not always appropriate for clients with complex or serious conditions.

Online counsellors cannot diagnose or treat mental illness online, but they can offer advice and support to people experiencing difficulties in their life and work.

Additional Info.

Healthier Mind = Happier Life adhere to professional ethics and standards of practice and allows you a safe and convenient environment in which you can explore and enhance your life. The benefits of online support and counselling are: Accessibility –You can access the support from the comfort and convenience of your own home and there are no geographical limits. Affordability – Reduced overheads such as not having to rent a private counselling space may mean that counsellors are able to offer online counselling at a reduced rate. Comfortability - It can be less intimidating and there is no stigma attached. For some people the prospect of sitting in a room opposite a counsellor can be intimidating and the internet-video or voice-only allows you to access support while retaining a feeling of safety. Convenience - You are able to receive support from the comfort of your own home, or wherever it is that you are. Particularly handy if you are: Travelling frequently and spend a lot of time outside your permanent residence. Too busy to commit to regular face to face appointments. Caregiver who is unable to take long breaks from your responsibilities. Busy parent. Housebound for some reason. Living in remote areas that are far from a counsellor's office. Flexibility - Online counselling offers more flexible times than face to face counselling. Privacy -You have the option to remain anonymous. Quality - You will still receive the same ethical and confidential standards as with face-to-face counselling.
