About our Business

We know the excitement involved in decorating a baby boy’s room. Of course, it’s one of the joys associated with the anticipation of a baby. There are tons of ideas floating around, loads of design books, and many suggestions to consider. As a parent, you’ve probably built lots of castles in the air, fondly imagining what the room might look like. And when your son comes– well, the little bundle of joy will be too young to understand anything right then, but he’ll appreciate the bright colors. Then, when he’s grown up, he’ll love you all the more for making him such a wonderful room. We give you some basic ideas to work upon, for your kid’s room decor.

Firstly, you need to decide upon a theme. What kind of theme would you like? More importantly, what kind of theme would your son like? There are many different kinds of themes available for a kid’s room decor, and you are spoilt for choice. You could go for a Nature theme. One side of the room would have a wall mural depicting a forest scene – a few animals, trees and birds. The bed could be a bunk-bed, and here’s a good idea – you could go for artificial creepers, and have them wind up around the bed post. There are artificial leaves available in the market too, if you think your son would like them. Try for furniture in shades of brown and green, and other earthy shades, ditto for the curtains and drapings. We guarantee the room will look nice, if done up with care.

Another theme you could try is the Comic Characters theme. All children, not just boys, appreciate cartoons – and you could have wall decals of different cartoon characters. Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Sylvester and Tweety, Tom and Jerry – the list is endless. Do up the room with cartoon-themed stuffed toys as well – there are many attractive ones available in the market. Go for a cartoon scene-themed mural, you and your wife can pour through catalogue books that offer such a theme, and decide the nicest one.

The theme of Outer Space is something you could try as well – for a unique yet stunning kid’s room decor. You could buy a solar system hanging, to dangle right above your baby’s crib – not only will this amuse him, but studies have shown that these colors and the movements help the baby’s cerebral development. Go for a Planets and Stars – themed wall mural.

Once you decide upon a theme, you need to know how to implement it. There are certain things to keep in mind. Try to involve an older child, and take his/her suggestions regarding colors and artistic interests. You need to reinforce the room’s theme and the kids room decor, so shop for fabric and wallpaper accordingly. You need to decide upon a focal point – the point in the room upon which the theme will be focused most – perhaps the bed, the study-table, or even a particular wall. Be sure to leave space for wardrobes, book-cases and a bulletin board upon which your son can display his artwork, once he’s all grown up. So now that you have the basic stuff in your head, you’re all set to start decorating!
