The 3 Favorite Free Advertising Sources
There are, as we know, many different ways of getting traffic to your site; some of these methods yield high quality, targeted traffic while others not so much..
With this in mind I’m going to take a look at a couple of the different methods of getting free traffic to your site..
Lets start by having a look at three traditional methods of getting some free or low cost traffic:
1. Traffic Exchanges
2. Credit-Safelists
3. Text Ad Exchanges
These three methods are the preferred methods of most webmasters as they encompass a wide targeted audience.
Traffic Exchanges.
As the title suggests you’re exchanging traffic with other website owners. This usually means that you surf a selection of other members sites and in return you get your site added to the rotation so that some of them see your site. The more credits you earn surfing, the more your Ads are seen.
The quality of traffic has been seen as poor because people don’t really know the correct way to use exchanges. Newbie’s will add an affiliate page to the Traffic Exchange, not realizing that this is the last thing you should do. You need to stand out of the crowd. You don’t want to advertise the same page that everyone other affiliate is using. You also don’t want to use your sales page. Full of long lengthy details, trying to sell someone a product or opportunity. There is no time to read it. You need a splash page: Ok, so what is a splash page? It’s a short, fast loading page that gets your attention and asks for an action usually (Click Here For More Info). That splash page will then take you to the sales page or affiliate page you are promoting. First, get your readers interest, and then take them where the info is……Simple as That!
Credit Based Safelists
What Is a Safelist?
A safelist is an email list that is focused towards
advertising web sites of its members. When you register, all members agree to
receive advertising emails from other members. It benefits advertisers by
allowing them to forward ads to a large number of potential customers without
having to resort to spam. It benefits members because they earn credits for viewing
the ads. Then you exchange your credits for Advertising. Much like a traffic
exchange, you view their Ads so that you can send your Ads to them.
Why is a credit-based safelist important? Before there were credit based safelist, there were the old school safelist that were much less likely to be read. What was the benefit of reading the Ads? Most were just collected and discarded, so you had to be very skilled in making a catching subject line to catch the attention of the members… Today, you earn credits for opening the email, and viewing the website. This increases the chance of prospects reaching your site.
So when looking for safelist, make sure it says it’s a credit-based safelist.
Text Ad Exchanges
These are great combinations of traffic exchanges and credit ads…It works slightly different in the aspect that there is no surfbar or games provided. Here you earn credits for viewing all the different types of advertising, whether it’s their traffic links page, banner Ads, text Ads or solo Ads….
Many people do not realize the potential of these exchanges. You earn points and exchange them for any of the advertising types they offer. Not just surfing websites. You also have the benefit of exchanging points for the credit solo ads to the member base of the exchange.
Viewing the traffic links takes much less time then surfing, as you are able to open more then one at a time if you use tab browsing. Glance at each one, wait for the timers and go to the next few. No surfbar, just simple browsing of the sites. Great for those who have much less time to view sites.
Summary
I recommend you do a little of all these types of
advertising everyday. No matter what advertising you do, consistency is the
most important component of internet marketing.
