Spanish ranks as the world's No. 2 language, with 329 million speakers in 44 countries. Spanish is sometimes called español and sometimes castellano 

Spanish is one of the world's most phonetic languages. Spanish a language belonging to the Indo-European family has a lot of similarity with English and French. Hence learning Spanish will help to pick up other indo- European languages especially English- because Spanish and English share much of their vocabulary.
